FROM THE FIFTH RESIDENTS’ COMMUNITY GROUP MEETING
Steps forward for the Pentridge piazza and retail spaces
On Monday 3rd October, Shayher Group met with a member of the Moreland City Council, community and the Coburg Historical Society.
The meeting focused on recent announcements made by Shayher Group regarding the proposed piazza, retail area and new cinema partnership with Palace Cinemas.
The discussions included:
- Shayher’s plans for the piazza area between Divisions B and E including:
- Recent announcements for the proposed building of a Palace Cinemas complex
- Timelines for the retail building and piazza activation
- Retail leases available and desired commercial entities to use the space
- Updates on the Masterplan review:
- Recent meeting between Shayher Group and Moreland City Council regarding timelines for the Masterplan review
- Champ Street:
- Potential cosmetic changes to improve the appearance of the Champ street exterior
- Current Restoration works to the guard towers and rock breaking yards:
- Permit updates
- Expected timeline for restoration work and reuse of areas
