April at Pentridge: What’s On

At Pentridge

Pentridge has had a busy first month of Autumn! The Pentridge Shopping Centre is more than ready to welcome visitors while the Pentridge Piazza saw quite a few outdoor events take place. From a book launch to an Imagine Moreland pop-up, and of course, the open-air cinema — there’s always something going on within the famed bluestone walls at Pentridge. We’ve kicked off Saturdays in April with our Easter Hunt and celebrations but there’s plenty more happening each Saturday.

Recap of March

Moreland City Council Conversation Caravan

Moreland City Council hosted their Imagine Moreland Pop-Up at the Pentridge Shopping Centre, to get some conversations started about the future of Moreland. Our tenant Mela Patisserie helped kickstart those important conversations with some freshly brewed coffee ready to go!

Thank you to the local community for coming to Pentridge and getting involved. We’re hoping several ideas were shared that’ll help shape our city over the next few years!

Pentridge Open-Air Cinema

Our first season of Palace’s outdoor cinema experience came to a close on March 28th. We made the best of summer evenings, providing an exceptional outdoor cinematic atmosphere, with an array of hand-picked retro films as well as new titles.

The open-air cinema was accompanied by the Aperol Spritz Sundown Sessions on select nights each weekend — inviting people to make their night out a little bit more special!

Pentridge Prison – Inside Out Book Launch

We proudly hosted Adrian Didlick and Katrin Strohl with the launch of their photo book Pentridge Prison – Inside Out. The sold-out event saw many history buffs turn up!

Pentridge Prison – Inside out is a 288-page photo book, with photos taken by Adrian Didlick, curated and edited by Katrin Strohl. The introduction and texts to the divisions are written by Don Osborne, a former teacher at Pentridge and author of the book Pentridge: Behind the Bluestone Walls.
