Precinct Walking Tours | Australian Heritage Festival

Precinct Walking Tours | Australian Heritage Festival

Walk among the historic walls and divisions of the former HM Prison Pentridge – once the site of Australia’s most notorious prison.

From the Traditional Owners of the Land to the current community precinct seen today, the tour will uncover the many sides of Pentridge’s history and how it has changed over time.

Led by an experienced Pentridge Prison Tour guide, this special tour offered as part of the Australian Heritage Festival includes areas of the precinct not usually accessible to the public and is an opportunity to see some lesser-known sites and learn about the history that goes with them.

The tour will conclude with time to explore H Division, the former maximum-security unit of HM Prison Pentridge.

Warning: This tour includes depictions of challenging subject matter and is not recommended for those under 16 years.

Pre-bookings are highly recommended.
